Historic Argyle is a non-profit organization created to preserve, protect and promote the cultural history of the people and places of the Argyle area. We have restored the Saxton House, Argyle's oldest existing house which was built by John Z. Saxton and James S. Waddington in 1850. This was the boyhood home of Robert "Fighting Bob" LaFollette, a leading voice in the Progressive Movement during his political career.
